Our Magical Mystery
Shakespeare wrote in the times long before The Beatles arrived, about the drama of human life. The Beatles, in their 1967 Magical Mystery tour, did this in a way that was more light-hearted and also probably far more confusing to those watching.
Magical Mystery tour is presented as an apparent psychedelic trip, a bit nonsensical, helped along by the lack of any meaningful script. Like with many things however, there are deeper meanings to be gleaned from it for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.
It captures perfectly, the struggles and nonsensical cyclical nature of daily human life.
It shows the characters and roles (actors) we all play.
The ambitions, the struggles, the relationships and the arguments.
Travelling from town to town, the story is the same, the people are the same wherever we go.
Nobody seems to be getting anywhere, going around and around, all caught up in their own worlds.
The magical mystery bus represents each of us. We are all on our own path/road in life. The question posed by all the drama in travels is what drives our lives, our ambitions, our likes, our dislikes, our motivation, happiness and unhappiness?
Once that question is answered, it reveals much about our human condition and nature.
