Top 10 Spiritual Questions Answered
Here is a Top 10 of the most common spiritual questions, answered as I understand them, based on my own human experiences.
Everyone’s experience of the world is different and unique to them. The following Top 10 (based on internet search) Spiritual Questions are answered based on my own personal experiences. The answers will probably differ slightly or even significantly for all others on their own unique spiritual path in life. The following is a written / worded explanation for something that essentially has no words.
What is spirituality?
Spirituality is very different to how many humans live their lives. There are many, many aspects to the whole theme of spirituality and there are different levels and how far one takes it. What spirituality isn’t, is constantly being under stress and anxious about the world. It isn’t about greed, acquiring material things, it isn’t about striving for more, more money, more promotions, more power etc. What spirituality is, is trying to find more peace in your life, making peace with the world, keeping your mind present, being aware that there is something bigger than just yourself, finding a connection with the all and the oneness.
What does it mean to be spiritual?
As above and doing everything with good intentions, good thoughts and doing good deeds. Being at peace, being approachable, kind, considerate, loving everyone, living with grace and understanding.
Can you be spiritual without being religious?
I’d say yes. One does not need to be in any particular place or of a particular faith to know God or find oneness; this is simply because Oneness and God is everywhere. One can live a law abiding, kind, thoughtful and considerate life regardless of which faith or religion they are or are not. There are however some very good pointers within religious texts for those on a spiritual path, but I feel that guidance is needed to understand them properly and in the way they were intended to be understood, not necessarily as per plainly presented. This is where religious buildings under the direction of religious leaders became popular, with the aim of explaining the path to enlightenment and God to their followers.
How do I begin my spiritual journey?
No matter whether one is in the early or more established phases of a spiritual journey the aims are always the same, to keep the mind present. Which means, settling the mind, not letting your thoughts run away with themselves.
What is the purpose of spirituality?
The aim of spirituality is oneness, keeping the mind present, finding peace in your life. The purpose of spirituality is based on one’s circumstances. If one’s life is full of stress and pressure or often overwhelming, the initial purpose of spirituality would be to address these things. After that, one may find that they wish to keep going on their spiritual journey and find more peace and enlightenment.
How do I know if I am becoming more spiritual?
Typically, one feels less stressed, more forgiving and accepting of others and situations that arise. One feels more at peace, relaxed, less seeking for things. Less is more. We will see less need for things, less need to prove oneself to others. It’s a gentleness.
What are the signs of spiritual growth?
Less is more. As we develop spiritually, we find we need less of pretty much everything. Everything tends to fall away, the needs, desires, aims in life. Peace is the pleasure we begin to enjoy.
Why am I here?
In my eyes, we are here for one reason, to find oneness (God to those who see it that way). In my eyes life on earth as a human is a test, a life long test.
What does it mean to live a spiritual life?
Less is more and doing everything with good intentions, good thoughts and doing good deeds. Being at peace, being approachable, kind, considerate, loving everyone, living with grace and understanding.
What is my true self?
The true Self is not the self. The true Self is the essence of who we are, spiritual beings, with every worldly thing stripped away. Most humans are products of their culture, upbringing, society etc these are things we acquire through our life. The true Self is what is left when all these things are let go of.
